It is not a legal requirement for locksmiths to have a DBS certificate. However reputable locksmiths should be able to provide their DBS certificate to show they have been checked.

A DBS check is a background check performed in the UK to determine an individual’s criminal history.
I’m based in Chesterfield but can cover work in Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield and the Peak District.
No I don’t charge a call out fee.
No. I’m not VAT registered, so there is no VAT included in the fee.
I am available for emergency work at weekends or for planned visits by mutual arrangement.
Normal working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. During this time I am available for enquires, quotes, planned or emergency work. Call outside of these hours are classed as out of hours emergencies and are subject to a slightly higher labour rate.
I offer a 24/7 hour call out service. I answer as many calls outside of normal working hours as possible.
I aim to be with you within the hour in most cases.
Yes. My membership number is available on request or I can show you my MLA ID card.
Yes. I have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate which is regularly updated.
Yes, however only for locks I supply or while attending to another job at your property or vehicle. Please note I do not offer key duplication as a stand alone service.
No. I offer a mobile only service. I don’t have premises, so I will travel to you at home or your place of work if that is more convenient.
Yes. All my work and parts I supply are guaranteed for twelve months.
